OneStep MDA presentation

Here's a presentation multimedia studio's One Step MDA based at Neuchatel. It was founded by Daniel Potuznik in 2006.

The range of the studio's services is very large. It includes website creation, learnings and of course 3D animation. The studio use Lightwave 3D and After Effects for the compositing.

OneStep MDA just finished a Breitling's movie (Historique 2009). That will be soon on the studio's website.

Raffael Dickreuter, 3D artist and teacher

Here's the presentation of Raffael Dickreuter, 3D animator (among others skills because he's also Massive artist, Motion Capture TD, ...) and founder of XSI Base.com, the world's largest Softimage community.

He founded XSI Base.com in 2002 and after his studies at University of the Arts in Zurich, Raffael join the team of Pixel Liberation Front (company specialized in previz) at Venice, California, in 2006. There he works on many blockbusters like SUPERMAN RETURNS, THE INCREDIBLE HULK and IRON MAN. But he also work on video games for EA and commercials for Pepsi or KIA.

Now, he's working on McG's TERMINATOR SALVATION.

Beside all that, he teach character animation and XSI instructor at SAE Institute at Zurich in 2005-2006 and now at the Univsersity of Southern California (USC).

Presentation of Sapristi Studio

Sapristi Studio is based in my native town, Lausanne and his young creative team is headed by Jean Depierraz.


Here's a small presentation of the studio:
Sapristi is a creative studio specialized in the production of high-quality visual products for the sectors of advertising, television, cinema and special events – among others.

A pioneer in its domain in the French-speaking Swiss territory, Sapristi Studio was founded in 1997 to meet the new demand for innovative digital and 3-D animations. The Sapristi team is composed of highly specialized creators of digital effects and designers – as well as producers/directors: in short, all the know-how necessary for the design and production of your projects

Deak Ferrand, a universes creator

Deak Ferrand is a swiss artist of Geneva. He's a well known matte-painter for more than 10 years. He founded his own studio Hatch FX. Recently he finished concept design and matte painting work on HELLBOY 2.

Born in Geneva, he first studied classical painting and sculpting, then worked as designer for a few years. Eventually he moved to Canada, attending courses at Montréal's NAD Centre (National Centre for Animation and Design), and was appointed animation projects and digital sets manager on the production of films and TV advertisements for the Image Buzz Group. In 1995, Deak was summoned to Los Angeles to work in the new offices of Buzz, soon renamed RIOT, which he left in 2001 to create HATCH, his own visual effects company.

Pascal Chappuis, a swiss between India and USA

Pascal is part of those swiss artists with really impressive CV. From 10 years now, he's working at Rhythm&Hues. In 2007, he become sequence supervisor and work on THE GOLDEN COMPASS (Academy Award for Best visusal effects in 2007) and THE INCREDIBLE HULK. He also worked at the India divison of Rhythm & Hues. 

Since the beginning of this year, he's back in Los Angeles and works on LAND OF THE LOST.

Full moon on Geneva

Here's the presentation of a vfx house based at Geneva, DEMAIN LA LUNE, that I know from a while. I work with them on the Victor Jaquier's shortfilm, CRONOS & RHEA.

On this shortfilm, they did all the 3D animation, the compositing of the house model (created by Cédric Charrey of LeStudioDigital) and the external matte-paintings. Below, the house composited. You can see the shortfilm on the Victor Jaquier's website.

DEMAIN LA LUNE is composed by David Hodgetts, Julien Andrey et Boris Rabusseau (who then join Freestudios). Since a year, Frédéric Naville has join the team.
The studio works on many different projects from features film like Xavier Ruiz's NEUTRE to shortfilms and commercials.

DEMAIN LA LUNE recently finished the shortfilm DANS LA PEAU of Zoltan Horvath. They have a long collaboration with this director. They worked on the most of his shortfilms. Below, you'll find the DANS LA PEAU's trailer. On this shortfilm, the artists have created beautiful tatoo animations.



Natasha Devaud, a swiss woman at Lucas


Since more than 12 years, Natasha, from Vevey, align the big blockbusters at ILM as technical director. His CV is impressive with movies like IRON MAN and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST.

Olivier Amrein, the numeric globetrotter

Olivier Amrein is a digital artist from Lausanne multi-task working both in 2D and 3D. He's also a globetrotter and did some digital works in China. Now he's working for RGB Prod at Aubonne.

Emmanuelle Walker, a womand touch in the swiss animation world

With Natasha Devaud, here's Emmanuelle Walker, prove us that there are also women in this work.
Don't miss AFTER THE RAIN, it's a great shortfilm, lots of magic !

Born in 1983 in Switzerland, Emmanuelle Walker moves to Montréal, Canada when she was 11 years old. She learn traditionnal animation at Cegep of Old Montréal. There she directs his first shortfilm, RIEN NE SERT DE COURIR QUAND UN PINGOUIN PART A POINT.

Then she works in the Montreal's animation world as concept designer, animator on many productions like TV shows, music videos, animated documentaries, shortfilms, ... During this time, she also direct his second shortfilm, A COZ for a environemental movie contest, she wons the best movie animation's prize.

She cross the ocean and enter at the Gobelins, at Paris, directly in the last year of formation where she learns 3D. She co-direct AFTER THE RAIN with 4 others students. She's now working in the animation world again but in Paris.

I recall that ILM is doing the major part of the VFX and Natasha Devaud works on the project as technical director.

Presentation of Simon Eltz

After finishing his animation degree at HGKL in 2005, Simon Eltz is hired by Swamp studio at Luzern. There he works on many shortfilms.

Then comes the great step, he moved to Paris and will worked on the animation film LUCKY LUKE - TOUS A L'OUEST for Xilam Films.
Back in Switzerland, Simon works on shortfilms and music videos. Beside that, he directs many shortfilms.

Since many months, Simon returns to Paris and works on the animation film LE CHAT DU RABBIN directed by Joan Sfar. On this movie, he tried the 2D computer animation instead of classic animation.
